All the services offered by Costa Rica Destination will be subject to the terms and conditions mentioned above.

Please read all the conditions carefully.


Costa Rica Destination is a tour company that creates personalized travel packages in Costa Rica. We take in consideration the needs, desires, budget, and number of travelers.

Once your travel plans are completed, and agreed by both Costa Rica Destination and the traveler, we will immediately began working on finalizing your hotel reservations, car rental, tour operators and others.

It's very important to keep the original agreed itinerary, but there are other factors outside the company that could affect the itinerary, such as the availability of our suppliers for certain times of the year, especially the high season of tourism in the country, therefore Costa Rica Destination reserves the right to modify a trip when one of these situations arise.

Because of this we recommend making reservations 6 months in advance.


Costa Rica Destination is an authorized tour agency. We arrange tour packages, hotel reservations, tour operators as well as transportation services. We make every effort in order to meet and make your journey as professionally as possible.

All our services are provided by service suppliers and sometimes we don't have direct control of their policies. Costa Rica Destination will only be responsible for services that we have direct control.

Costa Rica Destination IS NOT LIABLE for any claims, losses, medical expenses, damages, costs or expenses for injury, accident or death; damage or delay to baggage and other belongings.

Delays caused by:

  • Omission of any kind caused outside our company staff.
  • Any type of mechanical failure, government actions, weather or factors that are beyond our control.
  • Costa Rica Destination will not be responsible nor conduct refund for cancellations due to documents, passports, visas or valid health certificates which are required to visit Costa Rica.
  • Failure to follow the instructions such as itineraries, especially the hours of check-in and check-out of hotels, and baggage weight limits.
  • Cancellation or changes of tour packages that are made directly by the customer.
  • Health problems or physical disabilities of the client.

Customers participating in our tours are done so at the risk of the traveler.

Therefore Costa Rica Destination recommends that our customers need to be covered by life insurance, accident and health, as well as insurance to cover property items in case of loss or theft.

Important Facts

Rates subject to change without notice

While makes every effort to keep rates current, sometimes suppliers are slow to notify us of changes. Rates are subject to change until reservation is confirmed.


U.S. citizens need to have a valid passport (visa is required for some countries). It is the responsibility of all those traveling to obtain information and proper documentation. and its agents accept no responsibility for changes in documentation requirements nor for any departure or entry denials. Passengers denied boarding for lack of documentation will receive no refund. Full cancellation policies apply to cancellations due to incorrect documentation.

Schedule Changes and Delays

All travel times are based on the best information available at the time of confirmation. Due to the nature of international travel changes to schedules and itineraries may be necessary and may also prevent the inclusion of some activities. NO REFUNDS CAN BE GIVEN FOR SUCH ELIMINATION. 

We do not accept responsibility for losses or accidental expenses due to changes or delays in airline or hotel overbookings, defaults, weather, strikes, sickness, war, riots, or any other causes not within the power of All such losses or expenses are the responsibility of the passenger.

All travel documents and vouchers issued by and its agents are subject to the terms and conditions of the supplier, to the laws of their countries, and to international conventions between countries. The passenger agrees that and its agents, affiliates, employees, shall not be liable for any damages or losses incurred. All participants expressly waive any and all rights which one may have against and its agents, officers, or employees caused by the negligence of such persons in connection with foregoing. 

Under no circumstance is to be construed as a carrier or common carrier under contract for safe passage of the passenger or for luggage and/or belongings. By enrolling in and tendering payment for any and all services participants agree to accept and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions on this Web Site. No other person other than an officer of by document in writing, is authorized to waive or alter any condition with the foregoing.

All travelers should read carefully these responsibilities.

Payment Policies

Usually a deposit of US $ 200.00 per passenger must be paid in order to confirm the itinerary and reservations.

Due to the popularity of certain destinations, especially hotels when reservations are limited, additional deposits are recommended to confirm any kind of reservation. This applies especially during the high season.

It is highly recommended that the full payment be made 30 days prior to your travel date.

Bookings including travel dates from Dec 20 to Jan 10 and for Easter week require full payment in order to be confirmed and are non-refundable. Other than these holiday periods, final prepayment is due 45 days prior to arrival. Bookings confirmed within 45 days of arrival require payment in full within 5 working days.

We have three payment methods:

Credit card accepts; Visa and MasterCard.

A confirmation will be sent by email once full payment is verified. Original vouchers can only be mailed to the address to which your credit card bill is mailed or our tour guide will exchange your email confirmation at the airport for original vouchers. If you require original vouchers to be sent to you by courier, a charge of $12.00 will be added to your bill for this service.

Important: The Credit Card used must be of one of the persons that is using the services since a photocopy of the card and a valid ID will be required upon clients arrival to its Destination.

Notice: Once reservations have been confirmed there is a charge of US$25 to modify the reservations.

Cancellations and Refunds Policy

If you cancel your reservation, the rights of return or refund are limited. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 30 days prior to arrival, if so you would receive a refund of your deposit less a $ 25.00 per passenger for operating expenses.

Any changes made by the customer to the travel schedule will be your responsibility. No refunds will be made for services not used that were covered during the trip.

The following fees apply: (Supplier refers to hotels, car rental companies, tour operators, local Airlines, etc.)

30 days or more prior to arrival – $25 charge, plus any supplier penalties.
21 to 30 days prior to arrival – 25% charge, plus any supplier penalties.
14 to 21 days prior to arrival – 50% charge, plus any supplier penalties.
13 or less days prior to arrival date – 100% charge.

Once travel commences there will be no refunds made on unused portions, nor is the price or value exchangeable for alternative services.

Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions

If you choose to visit, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Notice and our Conditions of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the Republic of Costa Rica. If you have any concern about privacy at, please contact us with a thorough description, and we will try to resolve it.

Other Terms

  1. To guarantee a reservation, the passenger’s information should be emailed and payment should be made upon confirmation.
  2. Special information such as date changes, special meals, lodging, etc., should be written by email to our office at the time of initial reservation. 
  3. When making a reservation, the client should ask for written confirmation from our Reservations Department as a guarantee. However, at the time the customer reservation, we automatically will receive an email with the information of passengers and the tour or package, therefore we will confirm availability within 24 hours.
  4. To avoid charges on one day tours, written cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the tour’s departure time.
  5. Charges for cancelled tours that require lodging are subject to individual hotel cancellation policies.
  6. Costa Rica Destination is responsible for running a tour once a confirmation has been received. Any tour cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the tour departure’s time, will be charged in full (for one day tours).
  7. If a passenger needs to cancel a tour with less 24 hours prior to the tour’s departure time, Costa Rica Destination will give them the option to change the date of their tour. Applicable only for regular tours (one day tours).
  8. In case of a “no show”, the service will be charged according to our regular fees.
  9. Costa Rica Destination will wait for a passenger no longer than 5 minutes after the specific pick-up time. After 5 minutes, the guide will ask the Hotel’s recepcionist to stamp a document in order to prove that he was there on time and will continue the tour with the other customers. The client will be charged as a “no show”.
  10. For group and individual itineraries, special packages and services, other cancellation and payment policies may apply.
  11. Your credit card is charged the total cost above at time of purchase.
  12. Service is not guaranteed until full payment is received.
  13. A cancellation made 2 weeks before the arrival date: No charge for the client. A cancellation made 1 week before the arrival date: The client will pay 50% to Costa Rica Destination. A cancellation made less than a week before the arrival date: The client will pay 100% to Costa Rica Destination. (Subject to individual hotel cancellation policies. This applies for one day tours)


  1. Passengers over the age of 10 years will pay the normal adult fee.
  2. Passengers between the ages of 3-10 are considered children. Their fee is 75% of the adult fee.
  3. Passengers under 3 years old are considered infants and are free of charge. Parents will assume their expenses and provide their meals.

Other Policies

Costa Rica Destination reserves the right to change the route of any tour if it is considered to be beneficial to the client. Costa Rica Destination reserves the right to exclude any participant from the tour if his/her behavior is in any way injurious to the welfare of the group.

Costa Rica Destination acts as an agent and requires external services from hotels, tour operators, restaurants, transportation companies or individuals, etc. In these cases, their insurance and cancellation policies have priority over ours. Nevertheless, our vehicles have the best insurance coverage allowed by the Costa Rican government.
